This was fantastic! Two manual, NA V8s go head to head just doesn't get better than this. I wish Ford offered the better built/shifting Tremec on the GT.

Easily the best looking SUV out inside and out. Love what Genesis did and the colors avalible. Very bespoke and elegant. No piano black plastic and physical buttons/knobs is refreshing in in this segment. I would definitely take it over the stale Germans and the rebadged fwd based Toyota products Lexus offers.

I really liked the R35 GTR when it came out well over a decade ago. It was an affordable supercar killer. Now its ancient and costs more than faster cars with similar price tag. The interior is laughably bad which was fine when it was half the price that it currently sells at new. I think Nissan priced it a little out of the market/purpose. Does sound fantastic for a V6 though and surprisingly tail happy when pushed. I'd get a 2015 Track edition, add some aftermarket Rays wheels and be much better off than this new one. Definitely a charming car which is rare these days

Really imoressive. I was impressed with how how nice and tactile the switches and buttons felt. Reminded me of a Lexus. Great feedback. The standard IRS really helps to give the Civic best in segment dynamics in the mainstream models. It also looks great with this new gen. Love the wheels shown here. I wanted to not like the Civic as some of it was carryover but Honda has done a great job.

This actually looks fantastic. Like I would drive this. The black wheels also look great with this color. I would buy this spec. Inside and out is gorgeous. I do wish it had the new "KIA" logo though. Very impressed though. Shames the new 'yota Sienna. Paul great work as always. Very much enjoyed this
21
Love this format. I always learn so much from your reviews. Great job! That 300kg weigh difference seems huge but the STI overcomes it for the win. The sound of the STI is also quite a lovely thing
21
Easily one of the best looking vehicles inside and out that you can buy today. Just gorgeous. Diehard petrolhead, but I think this electric version of the G80 is the best version. Perfect fit for Genesis luxury cruiser with some engagement. Love what they have done. That color is fantastic as well. So impressed.
18
Fully agree. I really respect Paul's work
14
So it's not a coupe and it's not high riding. Toyota nailed with the naming ...
12
Such an ugly car inside and out. Would much rather have an Ioniq5 or EV6 for less money
10
Great job on this Paul! That lovely V8 sound is why I will never buy an EV. Such a great SUV in the SVR. Do wish it had cooled seats. For the sound review, I would measure for distortion and how clean the sound is. Its sound profile. Objective measures. Savagegeese does a great audio breakdown in each of his videos on the sound profile.

Love the drifts done with the Stinger. Easily one of my favorite cars a all of today. On the road its perfect and the lap time was very good. Wished there was a Go Pro mounted behind the cars so you can tell when they are stepping out on corners, ect.
9
Great job on this Paul as always. Exciting to get a car review from you instead of the usual SUV. Very impressed by the new 3 Series. I do wish BMW had more interesting interior /exterior color options like the new Genesis products. My favorite looking 3 Series is the E90/92
8
No manual transmission😥 Also if you hold the TC button it turns off stability. I actually disconnected the YAW sensor on my old 370Z so I always had it off
8
Love the C63 S so much. Sounds and looks fantastic. It requires more driving skill than the digital M4. Was shocked at how little skill it took to drive the new M3/M4. Then there is the hideous looks of the M4. Crazy that they weigh the same despite the BMW being down two cylinders
8
Absolutely love the i30 N but manual for me.
7
Absolutely love the GV80 inside and out. Such a elegant and bespoke design. I would easily take this over the frumpy GLE or the Boring RX. Love the colors and the materials used. So impressed by Genesis. I wish Paul was this hard on the German competitors on there reviews.
7
So much want! What a elegant design inside and out. So impressed. Would definitely buy over the dull Germans and uncompetitive Japanese competiton. Would love to see it with the GV70/Stinger's 2.5T or the 3.3TT found on other G70 variants. Love that wheel design on this estate. My parents own a GV70 3.5TT Sport and its fantastic. They love it and think its much nicer than the Audi SQ5 it replaced.
5
Interior is dated already and its not even out. Seems like a lazy update to me. Not sure who this is for when considering the better competition
5
Great work Paul.. Shame this lost the V8. Worse yet is that shiney black plastic interior. Fingerprints and glare on everything. I don't consider that a luxury. The exterior looks nice simply because it hasn't fully adopted Audi's new new design language
5
Exterior design is a mess. That rear end is a disaster of different shapes. Needs a manual transmission option. V8 sounds great
5
Beautiful inside and out. So elegant and bespoke. A refreshing offering compared to the dreary Germans. Love what Genesis is doing. G70 is my pick of the segment and will get my money.
5
Crazy expensive. I'd get the Nissan Patrol no question
5
The interior is truly gorgeous. Its a shame about the cheap piano black plastic used inside as it detracts from an otherwise great interior
5
Great review Paul as always. The exterior on this looks great. The interior is simply disappointing and ancient. The third row is so tight given the dimensions of the Patrol. The na V8 is lovely sounding and almost redeems the interior.
5
That front end id just so ugly. No idea how that gets a green light. Rear end is pretty useless with the seats up.
5
Love the 90 Defender. Land Rover nailed it keeping loyal Defender owners happy while attracting new ones. Such a hard thing to do an LR nailed it! The 90 is so good looking as well. Rarely if ever say that about a SUV
4
Surprised at how ugly they made the exterior. I would just get the non-Maybach version as th standard car looks great. This looks like an aftermarket "pimp my ride" offering. Not elegant or attractive. Having lots of money doesn't mean you have taste and Maybach is counting on it
4
Such a well done video. Great work! Appreciate the exhaust comparisons as well as the launch control vs no launch control. No one does that and it's great to see. Thank you

I think the Rolls-Royce Dawn is a nicer luxury car that looks better than the Bentley, which now just reminds me of a Bentayga which isn't a compliment. Rolls-Royce interiors are stunning unlike the cheaper looking Bentley models. The starry sky option alone would get my money, let alone the finer detail work. I don't understand why you would want a sports car in your luxury car when you can afford multiple cars,, but thats me. I want as smooth of an experience as possible when driving while having the best interior. Bentley would not be my choice. I would go Porsche 911 Turbo S over Bently, and then Rolls-Royce over both for a luxury car.

Mk 7.5 VS Golf GTI over this all day. Golf GTI has felt lined door pockets, better tech, better build quality, better engine, IRS, and a lsd to boot all for a similar price. Mazda lost me as a customer here. Always loved the 3 hatch but this hatchback design of the current gen is not a step forward. Neither is the heavier chasis or lack of IRS. Even the regular Golf is more "premium" than the new 3 hatch
3
Couldn't agree more

Great information here. Personal experience with the 10 speed auto is mixed. Constant gear hunting and being caught in the wrong gear occurs frequently. Further tuning is needed and hopefully will be sorted soon. Sadly Ford seems to be cost cutting product like crazy and I fear that will be the case here. Hope I am wrong
3
Easily the best sounds NA V8 out there. Love that engine. Exterior is gorgeous and looks so Mich better in person. They need a touchscreen in this yesterday. Wish they would make a light weight version of the LC so the V8 isn't saddled with so much weight
2
Way too expensive. The Germans have traded luxury for screen size inside. The piano black plastic everywhere looks awful and cheap
2
I finally figured out why this looks like a off broader and it's because the height of the car is too high. It looks lifted. Otherwise it's beautiful. I can't fit in the RF so I can't participate in the fun sadly. Too much torso. I wish this 2L high reving engine that wings to decline would be in a 86/BRZ personally. I could daily it then. Plus Toyta pretty much owns Mazda so make it happen
2
Terribly ugly outside and a very underwhelming interior. No physical buttons or knobs for things like the climate control is a disaster and an instant deal breaker for me. This horrible trend of no physical controls for vital functions like climate needs to stop.
2
Get the manual. Top Gear just posted there test 0 to 62mph and he manual did 5.7sec vs the automatics 6 sec flat time. #savethemanual
2
Very underwhelming. I would not pay the money they want for this. I'd rather have the Durango SRT personally. Just expected more for all the delays and hype around it.
2
@CarExpert are you going to do any track drive videos with Chris Atkinson? Really miss those videos
2
Fantastic job Paul. Love that this was taken to the strip for a drag race.
2
Crazy how dated this Toyota is. It has gotten worse with age
2
Mazda had a chance to be the Japanese BMW infiniti once occupied and instead Mazda did an incredibly average offering. The lack of a touchscreen while driving is a huge miss. Mazda not reaching into there Zoom Zoom roots and making this rwd based suv dynamic and fun is a miss. Im more impressed with Genesis GV70 and would take that over this bland Mazda everyday. Missed opportunity. Very forgettable which for a premium SUV isnt acceptable to buyers unless it has a Lexus badge
2
Yeah the Rav4 Hybrid awd system is more of a suggestion than a real awd system. CX5 for me, not even close. Mazda does need to ditch the piano black plastic inside though for its "premium" focus.
2
Piano black plastic inside looks cheap and low rent. Very unimpressed with this average at best offering from Toyota. I'd just get the Rav4 this is for less money or a real luxury SUV like the X3 or GV70
2
Well done Paul. Appreciate the honest take. The wind buffeting issue is a head scratcher and crazy they didn't address it with the new model update. I think the strategy of Toyota to add feature a the car should have had day one, each model year will hurt sales. As you pointed out with yours, its like they are punishing the loyal, early on supporters and rewarding those that wait. I don't like that.
1
I mean I wouldn't poo poo a Chris Haris like drift session going through 20 tires but thats me 😉
1
This was the first time where it seemed a lot of time was spent in the braking zone to the point of where it seemed like the car was over braked/ too much speed scrubbed off. I appreciate your recap where I believe you were saying the same thing that you sometimes got too much brake. Was surprised to see how lazy this car was
1
@Destroyah32 why do they use it in the RS6/RS7 then?
1
Maserati LeVante Trofeo and Alfa Romeo Giuliani are the two best looking SUVs out there with the F Pace SVR in a very close third place. Love the sound on here. Makes me want a F Type SVR because car. That said, Jaguars infotainment is quite miserable and confusing. Jaguar doesn't seem very good at the luxury/build quality bits which is somewhat a big ordeal in a luxury brand.
