  1. Always take the shot. Your life matters. If you kill someone, live with it. That is your burden. You don't get to pretend, you don't get to lie, you have to carry that burden & it will change you as a person. What's wrong with that? It's called growing up. Our grandparents were drafted into war by our country & experienced horrific things to defend our way of life. They lived. I'm not going to pretend it was easy for them. I always think of the way both of my grandfathers- both of whom served- handled guns versus my dad, who didn't & got shot by one of his friends. My grandfathers taught me useful skills, my father repeatedly attacked me growing up & once sold everything I owned while I was away for the summer. My grandfather's advice: "Never point a gun at something you don't intend to shoot & kill." My dad's advice: "In my house, you'll do what I say or get out." Our parents weren't up to raising children because they were still children themselves. Now, I'm all too aware of this difference looking at generations growing up. The responsible people are ready for anything; their lives matter. The irresponsible ones aren't ready now & will never be. Take the shot.
