  3. My first husband was a Kentucky Melungeon. Harlan Co KY. They had a German name and were very odd people, definitely hiding something. Got really mad when I mentioned Cherokee blood. FURIOUS! My brother married a Tennessee Melungeon. Far more strange than my own in laws. OMG!

  4. I will also tell you that my first husband and I were married 23 years. During this time, he was in Army for 11 years. He often got visits from the Rabbi, if a Rabbi was on base. He would tell them he was a Christian, not Jewish.That said, they seem to recognize one another, lol. His last name was Engle and there are LOTS of people with that name in Harlan Co KY. He looks Middle Eastern. His sister is even darker than my X. One of our children was dark, one light like me, and one of our grandsons really looks Arabic or Jewish, VERY dark. I have also discovered that many German Jews carry name Engleman. With Engle part spelled as in his family. Not a coincidence. Also once when researching history of early migrations into North America, I found a story of a VERY EARLY migration of Jews fleeing persecution in Europe. It was LONG known that North America existed. One source even spoke of Moorish people coming into Appalachian Mountains. Im sure, if they lived very long, they would have mixed with local Native Tribes. I have always found all of this facinating.

  6. BUT, who are what are the Native Americans? Many, many groups came into NAmerica LONG before Columbus and De Soto. Even as far back as Ice Age. Now proven. These many people's mixed with whomever was here. Phonesians, Minoians, Solutreans even. Some say Egyptians too. They came for copper and gold and you are right, the Mayans came up and got clay from Georgia to make special blue glaze/ Mayan Blue. An essential part was Clay from Georgia. In Cherokee, they teach the public that the Mayans were here and brought corn to the Cherokee 1100 years ago. Yes, Vikings too. Welch before that. Welch Druids too came in Viking Long boats escaping Christian persecution.

  12. Beautiful country. Reminds me of my dad. He loved prowling around the mountains and looking for old things and history. Looking at trees and waterfalls could make him get teary eyed. He taught me about the old Chestnut trees, THE GIANTS.
