  1. When choosing roses, choose heirloom/ old varieties which are suited for your region. Also, plant in sunny warm place. Here in USA, this is Mother's Day weekend and beautiful flowering plants are a big sell item, stores are hoping for emotional sales. Most people don't know about roses and new varieties are VERY difficult to grow. Your Mother is correct. Wow, your prices for plants are about same as here. Probably come from same place, lol. International trade and all that. Who knows where plants are actually started. Little Mexican fire place is for a candle I think.

  2. Yes, our car was covered heavily with pollen this year. All trees and plants bloomed to the maximum because we had no late freeze or frost. I hand washed the car first then took it to a car wash. I had to scrub pollen off with soft brush in the edges it was so bad.
