In addition to distance from hospitals, traveling to different areas, can spread virus to these outlying areas. People go to stores, etc, expose people in rural areas.
This is happening here, in North Carolina, USA. We live in a remote, mountain area and already, outsiders have brought the virus in to our communities. ALL cases thus far came from outsiders.... what I call crisis refugees, fleeing to less populated mountains. Now MANY people here are exposed because these people shopped in our stores, etc.
Now ALL local towns and communities are imposing strict restrictions and curfews and many roads and access ways are blocked, closed. Large fines are given to people who don't obey rules. These are very difficult times indeed. Much anxiety is result. But I am very grateful. We have electricity, clean running water, we have internet and tv to educate ourselves and for entertainment. Not so bad. Many people are out of work and many businesses will not survive this, though government is trying to help. We shall see. After this is over, we may have a very different world to live in..
