  3. This is sweetest story ever. My husband died a year ago and his dog, age 14, is just like your cat, grumpy and mean. Going out with me is his only joy.

  7. An old cat can often use his front legs to climb, but because of arthritis in hips, and probable old injuries, they have a difficult time jumping. So climbing up with his front legs and coming down steps is best of both.

  9. Poor Baby. I rescued a cat just like this one. Mine was deaf, had been beaten up. He was neutered, so someone just abandoned him, or passed away. Heartbreaking.

  11. We rescued a grey cockatiel. My grandson found her on side of road. She was weak, had almost given up. No idea how old. Pretty sure she's a she. I am now aware of how birds are neglected, abused, abandoned. It's a life time commitment. I need to find her a mate, but I don't want to raise more captive birds. Mine was likely abused, she still won't allow me to pet her. She does interact and sends me kisses. She gets excited when men come around. I'm a good mama. We have a cat too however, so I don't push her to get out of cage. Cat would kill her.

  13. I adopted a traumatized cockatiel too. Perhaps I need to get a support mug. So far, my bird will not allow me to hold her/ him. I agree, birds should not be pets. I had never wanted a bird until my grandson found her on side of road. Not even sure she's a female, but I think she really, really likes men.

  29. Around here, in Smoky Mountains of NC, the authorities would have put that bear down. Hr hangs out around homes, eats human food, and would be seen as a potential danger to the community or tourists.
