I live in an Indigenous community in US. This tribe has a casino that supports their new schools, a hospital that is free to tribal members, and provides each enrolled tribal member with approximately $12,000. a year. Since this area is mostly a seasonal economy, most people here are not employed all year. So, this $12,000. per enrolled tribal member is a guaranteed income for these people. This makes an enormous difference in their lives. ( children do not get their $ until they are 21. Yes, this can be a problem but the good far outweighs the bad.)
We must realize that this area of Appalachia was previously one of great poorest areas in the US for nonIndians, but especially for Indians. Another important thing to remember that this casino hires many, many Non Indians and in doing do has radically changed this entire area of Appalachia.
So, yes, the things brought up here are true and important. All poor people could benefit from guaranteed income. A little can mean a lot & can change lives.

Absolutely, patriarchy is to blame. Power is out of balance, hence abuse is easy, puts priesthood above ALL. The all male priesthood OPRESSES & BETRAYS CHRIST & ALL CHRISTIANITY STANDS FOR. Any time women are placed beneath men in society and in life, Unrighteous Dominion is the result.
( I'm not even Catholic, and I was assaulted by a Catholic priest when I was 17. I lived in a Catholic community. My best friends were Catholic. I told my friend's dad and he made this priest leave me alone. It wasn't bad, it could have been worse... in reality, any abuse is horrible. Almost every Catholic I know, both male and female, have a childhood story of abuse by a priest, or a nun. Yes, this happens in other Christian Churches too, and all religions. Any organization where power is abused.)
Men and Women on equal ground, sharjng power, will change the world.
