I have known Black People, men, friends over the years, in mixed groups hanging out, who were always careful, watchful, always expecting trouble when doing nothing wrong, always looking over their shoulder... I didn't understand. Now I do. I thought all that was behind us, the ugly past, history. They knew it was still there, just under the surface, waiting to erupt. All it took was Trump.
