  1. as an educated progressive non-reich-tsar-boot-licking russian i can tell you that this review is very good if not brilliant. one correction though. 13:40 it's not like pu invented the petrostate approach, it just so happend to be that oil prices skyrocketed from 10-20 bucks a barrel throughout 90s to 100-200 after the year 2k. also even though russia was an oligarchic state before pu the number of billionairs went from below 10 under yeltsin to 100 under pu. the natural resource trading crime connected oligarchs like abramovich, deripaska and usmanov (first row of your picture) remained closely connected to the pu's regime to this day. and one funny detail to prove the point even more - the right most guy on the second row - timchenko aka gangrena - is a 100% pu's creation, he was a hobo with just several hundred of thousands buck net worth during the 90s and only became billionaire couple of years after the pu's appoinment.
