  1. @This Dude not only the games are glorified fanfiction formally, they are constructed as fan fiction in artistic way as well, especially the first one - they intentionally take some characters and situations from the books and twist them a bit to use as their own but make clearly recognizable, for example professor/magister character (killed by geralt in the book) or grandpa in the swamp.
