here's the thing - amino acids, fatty acids and all sorts of micronutrients are essential, fiber and some compounds may be beneficial, carbs are neither of those. so if you want to maximize the essentials intake with capped calories there's no reason to eat bread, white rice, sugar or high fructose syrup.

you don't need snacks. if you are hungry then eat a regular meal, if you aren't hungry then don't eat anything. let the git do its work - digestion takes time, bile concentration takes time, bowel movement takes time. people used to eat 1-2 times a day (if not less) and run around starving half the time, but now you can't go about your day without constantly shoving something in your mouth? it's bad not only nutritionally, but also habitually.
