2:26 you see, the thing with this is you are uncomfortable, but you're moving at a certain guaranteed speed so you often can project your eta to the minute. while in your car you'll just spend much more time standing in a jam, even though with comfort, because we're talking about very tightly packed cities here. in fact driving a car into the city centre may not even be an option for many reasons.

the girl unironically saying deadass...

funnily enough when you pay with a usd card in europe sometimes they give you an option to pick the currency and pay without conversion on checkout. it least it used to be the case some time ago.

lol romania is 100% half slavic, it's literally between all those other slavic countries and has pretty much the same migrational genesis
2
olden churches and pubs don't necessarily translate into political nations. most modern countries and their political nations are relatively new and young. take germans, turks or chineese (both continental and on taiwan) - they all can count hundreds and thousands of years of some history, but as coherent and stable modern nations they all are considerably younger than such of the us.

lol, the kids don't care about reaction, they just want to eat the sweets, haha. which is ofcourse perfectly normal

15:30 reminds me of that hotel johnny silverhand takes v to to retrieve the dog tags and talk heart to heart a bit.

7:09 martin is the least russian name of these four. the quiz is pretty silly overall, imo

you can hear americans across the street

the only halva i know of is made of sunflower seeds which are very popular east of germany. so it's not hard ut rather chewy and kind of sandy and very oily like peanut butter.
1
@greggegg8358 everyone called themselves after rome, even seljuc turks in anatolia, so it's kind of laughable
1
@AlexEternalChamp you know it was latinized (alphabet-wise) artificially and semi-recently, right?
1
@marcromain64 it seems to be exactly what i said. there're multiple entities preceding any modern country or nation, but the question of continuity and legacy still stands no matter the proclaimed self identification. i would argue that 200 years of american history is more coherent and prevalent in modern us nation than 200 years of german history or turkish history. and if you want to go 500-1000 years back one could say that the americans can draw their identity from that same western european civilization, be that england, france or hre.

taxes in europe is a major factor, especially in some places. for example when i came on cyprus the absolute majority of cars there - like 80-90% - are this ultra small whatever type (below golf class or whatever, i'm sorry, i'm not a car guy myself), like i've never seen anywhere else. and the problem isn't with ultra narrow streets of of "old european towns", the roads are fine and there's no this hugely congested traffic. however the parking lots are small, especially on those private properties, but people manage to squeez up to three cars there literally back to back lol.
1
you need to try and make "homebrewed" kvas, lol. modern canned or bottled industrial kvas can sometimes be on a sugary and aromatized side or watery. however if you'll buy "alive" one from a huge barrel or something you can feel depper tastes and aftertastes as well as "bitiness".
1
@nicoladc89 yep, there's no mystery - it's just big cities and their megapoli-aglomerations. this especially telling in russia because not only moscow and saint-p are huge cities by themseves, but because there's alot of industrial complex installations around them in satellite cities and towns.

even the best bread is unhealthy. wheat flour is junkfood in and of utself btw, how's 1g of sugar is ok? sugar is a complete taboo.
1
the heater is supposed to be left on all the time. firstly, to dry towels. secondly, to counteract condensation and avoid mold since it's a humid room. thirdly, you generally need higher temperature when you're stepping out of the shower wet to feel comfortable, it's like 5 degrees plus your regular room temp.
1
i think that "healthier european food" is a bit artificial and misleading concept. pretty much any whole food would be healthy. so if you take any fresh protein (be that meat instead of sausages, non sweetened dairy, preferably fermented, non-murican cheese, eggs etc), fresh vegs and fruits and beans (dried, not canned with sugar) and whole grains (instead of cookies and bread with whole grains printed on it) you'll be fine. and it can't be more expansive than anything imported from across the world.
1
you start doing these slavik alphabets, even if latinised, it starts going down hill snowballing. dobri den is good day and nazdorvje is for health in almost every if not every slavik language. btw, there was a guy who invented (for a book i believe) artificial pan-slavik language so almost every slavik speaker can understend almost everything spoken on it. not that they are that different in the first place, but it takes kind of a middle ground approach.
1
hey, how many people in slovenija, let's say in ljubljana, speak english, would you estimate?
1
@tovinikgroz868 good. thanks.
1
this orangina is 99% polish
1
for many people it makes sense to learn english and some neighboring language, so that russian girl knows belarusian, germans may know french, african girls know languages from around their place and so on. americans are doomed in this respect - their first language is already english and half their neighbors speak english natively (canada) and the other half will do too for you (mexico). which leads to total lack of need and effort.
1
there is a "lazy" version of these golub(ts)y where you just drop all the ingredients in a pot and cook them together🎉
1
i know it's probably a bit cliche, but no sagrada familia?

@ there're obvious considerations. buying local currency (in either country) you're paying fx spread anyway. if you're paying by card in local currency you're paying that same (or at least similar) spread + possible exchange fees to your bank. in my case it was that the payment processor/shop was willing to charge me in usd with no additional 20% markup or whatever, and in my bank this payment was free as long as it was in usd. what's actually much worse is in my experience european stores often refuse to accept card payments whatsoever under some arbitrary sum like 10e. i understand their sentiment, but in my country (which isn't the usa nor in eu) you can literally pay with a card everywhere, in fact it's more likely they won't take cash than the other way around.
1
the problem with these is you get alot of sugar and some emulsified if not hydrogenated palm oil. that's why i stick to 85-90%+ cocoa chocolate. surely it's less tasty, or rather less sweet, but you ultimately get the stuff - chocolate that is.
1
pledge of allegiance is a total joke. firstly, the kids are the same citizens like any other, so why would they need to do some extra pledging? secondly, it's effectively compelled speech applied to a developing an easily traumatized mind. it creates unaware though and emotional patterns and who knows what else.
1
add a z to each r and read it like j (g, not i) - that's how i go about polish. dobre = dob(j)e. polish, imo, is a like the french of slavic languages - vocabulary is pretty much the same, just good luck pronouncing and understanding it.
1
i would certainly say 51 or 52, it just sounds more like a real number as opposed to even 50.
1
lol barbie girl should be at least 16+
1
try looking for квас, байкал and тархун. idk if there's any sense in giving you transcripts and how many easten european countries have them and if they do then how do they call them.
