@TheImperatorKnight Yes, the state is a monopoly of lawful violence. By the way, state power is inevitable, necessary, and so much better than the alternative (which is mafias and anarchy i.e. random rape robbery and murder plus private vengeance of all kinds).

Obviously the USSR being a capitalist market economy enjoyed vastly superior logistics or, economic reductionism sometimes fails.

@TheImperatorKnight some monopolies result from thug tactics others because of economies of scale sometimes both. Are you still working on German? Or are you ready to start in on Russian?

oh yeah, and 3) also all those saboteurs and partisans really were a problem for German logistics, USSR never faced anything like that not even from UPA.

Spoilers: 1) Plenty of gasoline oil and any other petrol product. 2) All those lend lease trucks. USA was happy to ship the trucks because they could be used in post-war reconstruction and couldn't be maintained without parts and aren't weapons. This is why the USSR got lots of trucks and radios food too but actual weapons not so much.

No trucks means no mobile warfare means static war of attrition, which would have been good for the nazis since their entire goal was to depopulate Russia and would have eased their logistic problems considerably and made their defence much easier too. The trucks were a war winner. You get maybe 3 trucks for 1 tank, maybe even only 2. Thousands of fewer Soviet tanks matters.

@dwarow2508 yes of course the nazis couldn't fight a war of attrition this is why Leningrad was surrounded for three years, all the way into late 1944 with literally millions of dead which when you are waging a genocidal war is the very objective.

without lend lease even MORE starvation. With the loss of Ukraine the USSR was no longer self-sufficient in food, if it even was before then, remember the Ukrainian famine? That happened in peace time. No lend lease = mass russian starvation = game over.

@dwarow2508 "There was no starvation except for people under german occupation." Viypit do dnya... krovniy lozh. it's a total lie you believe there.

Tell me then, why did 40% of Amish and Mennonite Russians Germans deported to Siberia die of starvation hm?
