Not only was this NOT a crime under international law in 1945 it would probably have been a crime to keep the citizens of another country (not to mention where would you keep them?) It would certainly be a wrong, a violation of state responsibility in other words would be illegal (not all which is illegal is also criminal). I really get tired of hearing people with NO legal training whatsoever making grand claims about law.

@EarthForces His argument is wrong in several ways, and I've already explained the more obvious ones in other comments. He's claiming that releasing prisoners is mistreating them. It isn't. He's claiming Geneva applied to USSR. It doesn't. His arguments are self-contradictory (only individual liability / but the ussr is a criminal organization) and wrong (no where has the USSR ever been declared a criminal organization). He's engaging in conclusory reasoning, it's disgusting and stupid to watch, it's slipshod at best, dishonest at worst. Just search for my other comments on this video.
