In my view the war was a desperate suicidal move undertaken by those without a choice with a view to losing the war but winning the peace, which is in fact what happened. I know for a fact the elites were planning for their defeat from 1943 on and no one expected the regime to do as well as it did. The axis in WW2 were a suicide club. You know Britain lost the peace right? Hitler even said so near the end of the war: he said that whatever the result, the British empire was finished. I think the best view of the war years is as being the result of an insanely dysfunctional suicidal international system which btw was entirely replaced after 1945. All the international rules and institutions today didn't exist in 1939 and are all specifically intended to prevent 1939.

I'm increasingly of the view there is NO answer to the problem of property. 1) Lots of property started out as slavery and conquest, often genocidal conquest. All that expropriated wealth then winds up being inherited. So right from the get go property is problematic: lots of it starts out as force and fraud. But wait! It gets worse because 2) Lots of other property starts out as just plain hard work and careful conservation and application of limited resources! Why is this a problem? Because 3) how could state power remedy problem one? It can't! (as if it even wanted to!) but even if state power were wielded by honest people as opposed to greedy liars , well, tha is problem 4) those who wield state power are horribly dishonest, violent, willing to kill for power and of course selfish ok so state power CANNOT remedy problem 1 which of course IS a problem but meanwhile ANY effort to remedy problem 1 runs into fact 2. I must be wrong somewhere. Where?

@schnenschus5968 i'm fairly sure his political views haven't changed much at all and that was all in on libertarianism from the start. i never see him advocating locke hobbes rousseau maybe mentions adam smith occasionally; certainly nothing about rawls dworkin thankfully I just don't see any classical liberals in his ideas excepting Smith, I don't even think he mentions Ricardo though he does talk about Keynes to call him the sophist faker he was.

state enterprises tend to be inefficient because of political corruption, simply put. the crony job comes with the implication of political support - and reelection. change of government = lose cushy job. oppose government = loss of cushy job. it's this split focus which makes state enterprises generally less economical than private ones; the infinite resources of being able to tax out mistakes also explain inefficiency "bad management this year? too bad they are my cousins and voters. i guess i gotta raise taxes! and voila. bad management is covered, and the economy goes to shit.

@MrX-hz2hn That's a common myth but it's nonsense. Humans are in fact the best long distance runners on planet earth. Not second best. Not in the top ten. The best. Yes, many other animals sprint faster, but humans long distance running ability is well-adapted to our most effective hunting style, which is drive a range of herd animals into exhaustion preferably off of a cliff en masse. Humans do however have fewer fast twitch muscles: its because rather than devote energy to muscle we put it into brains. Chimpanzees are stronger than humans by about 3x but we are soooo much smarter than all other animals. You can punch a shark to death if it's trapped on the land. Every animal is adapted to survival in its niche. Our niche just happens to be very very large possibly the largest on the planet.

@MrX-hz2hn I have lived several years outdoors, really, having built myself several shelters whether hasty or prepared. Herd animals are fundamentally cowardly. At most they will defend their young or likelier feign weakness to distract from their weaker members. Your imagined scenario of a stampede turning against its stampeders simply does not happen: they're that stupid. I am much, much more concerned with insects particularly sand fleas or rodents than I am with large animals. I am also much more concerned about the rain than any animal even the familiar ones. Rain+Cold=Dead. Cleaning an animal is easy, especially if you have a knife though of course a sharpened stone will do. Cut off the head cut around the anus you must be careful not to break the shit bag in their then gut it upward toward the throat all the organs should then fall out then haul the poor deer carcass or whatever up in the air so the blood may drain out though that is in fact also edible. After you've drained it you skin the hide, you may use that for leather. Woodcraft is low technology easily learned especially if you have the internet.

@TheImperatorKnight wealth is created because of the LTV. You need to read Locke again just because Marx took it up too doesn't make it wrong. Don't pay taxes. they only fund the war machine. I don't need or want to debat the LTV: Locke was right Mises was wrong, you've made too videos, we might not change each others mind but it isn't fatal to libertarianism; you can be wrong about some things but still be better than the alternatives. I don't think problem 1 is solveable. I'm also unsure whether or how to solve the problem of people unable to create sufficient wealth for their own survival, even when they are not being exploited or enslaved, whether due to age, illness, or lack of capital goods like farm machinery.

btw it's really easy to say "forget the past" when you are not the victim of it and in fact benefit from it. do you really expect e.g. descendants of slaves in the americas to "just forget" about their stolen inheritance? what about all those indigenous peoples robbed of their land? "just forget the past" is a great idea as far as a criminal is concerned "so i robbed and killed, and then gave the goods to my kids so what they didn't do it you should forget about it was all in the past and build a better future by kissing up to them now that they are the social elites thanks to my clever acts of theft and slavery"

My best guess is you are conflating a theory about the origin of property with a theory about the value of property. This split between "ownership" and "utility" is thanks to our fucking utilitarian idiots; they like to imagine an imaginary thing call the util, i shit you not, which then justifies state actions without regard to the market value of the thing. Some try to distinguish "value" from "worth" but I don't regard that as tenable. If value means price and in some theories it does not, well, that's the best way to try to get at what the utilitarians and i think the libertarians are after which is an explanation of the subjective versus objective aspects of commodification of objects and labor.

massive recyling yeah and also gardening. mostly though expropriate the food from everywhere else in europe. tik (or goebbels...) is overestimating the food crisis. there wasn't a food crisis for the gudaryans of the world. no coffee. I'm serious, the biggest food shortage was a lack of coffee, then cigarettes and cola. and the nazis opposed cigarettes before the war anyway. other then coffee, chocolate and cigarettes there was plenty of food, even meat, but of course all the best food goes to the military first.
