  1. The German stock exchange has never been so big as in US UK France. Private capital in Germany tends to stay in powerful families and large businesses tend to be organized as private, not public companies i.e. not to be publicly traded.

  2. i guess it must be shocking to some but if you were to compare the german economy of 1937 to the west german economy of 1957 you would find far more parallels than divergences. Most all of the social welfare state machinations were implemented in Germany pre-war, many dating all the way back to the second Reich, specifically to Bismarck.

  3. The nazis were abolutely NOT about privatization lol just the opposite: seized absolutely anything would become STATE property. These then might be doled out to loyal private institutions -- or might not be! The TODT Organisation, e.g. was NOT a private company.

  4. the nazis attitude toward the deprivatization of capital was: what does it matter if cash and other capital are in private hands if we, the state, have absolute power over all aspects of life and can seize all that property any time for any reason.

  5. i think those who misrepresent German economic and political history of 1930-1950 are iterating their fundamental (mis)conceptions and assumptions rather than acting in bad faith intentionally muddying a well documented public historic record for contemporary political purposes. it's just too easy to see bad faith as opposed to incompetence in others.
