  1. The Courland pocket was a correct decision. No Courland means no training bases for U-Boats. No Type XXI U-boats means no chances to 1) nuke the USA 2) blockade Europe or 3) evacuate the nazi leaders after the war's end (spoiler alert: they totally did!) Courland was also correct because IF the nazis get a nuke then they might well be able to counter-attack in the east. If the war is lost anyway losing at Courland doesn't matter. And indeed if the U-Boats & Nukes are the ONLY chance to win the war then yeah, you need Courland so U-Boats have a safe area to train crews.
