  2. your english is great , really. I read a great article in Military History Quarterly about the battle in Budapest and yeah it was terrible but no Stalingrad terrible, still the same thing: surrounded units running low on supplies inevitably crushed.

  7. Why doesn't anyone else seem to understand STANDING ORDERS? Standing orders are what you do unless told otherwise. Every army uses standing orders. "Not one step back" very likely was simply a wait for it STANDING ORDER.

  9.  @TheImperatorKnight  It and Balaton don't get much coverage in English. One take-away is the use of seriously inferior metals by Germany so you have nominal panthers running around with armor that is brittle and easily penetrated. No mass starvation or mass war crimes so far as I have read since this was all on friendly territory not an away game. Big battles both of them.
