They have to try and justify what is turning out to be a terrible buying decision - worse for the environment, more expensive, horrific depreciation, short life span ,limited range and more expensive to charge than petrol if using public chargers .🤨

Whenever I am in discussions with an EVangelist who constantly decries ICE cars and their burning of fossil fuels, I point out to them that were it not for fossil fuelled excavators, diggers, lorries, factories etc, plus by-products from the petrochemical industry, they wouldn’t even have their oversized Electric Noddy-Wagons to play with.

  23. Imagine driving an EV - Being glued to an ipad watching the dwingling range meter... over every hill and every time you need to press the accelerator. Imagine if you were an elderly person or a woman out alone or with young kids..... Imagine trying to sleep while your giant battery is slowly charging all through the night. Probably have to run into the garage every few hours to see how it's going. Awful.

Never owned an EV, but as an electric model plane flyer I can tell you these lithium batteries last 5 minutes... they swell up, loose capacity, go out of cell balance and can produce fire and smoke that you would not want in a car you are sat in, or left charging at your home🔥 i put up with them at the size of a mobile phone, but to fill a car with them is fcuking madness.

  33.  @WillBecker  Atmospheric CO2 is not alarmingly high, it is too low for optimal plant growth and alarmingly low for the survival of carbon-based terrestrial life. The real danger is not too much CO2 – it is CO2 starvation. Over geologic time, CO2 is ~permanently sequestered in carbonate rocks. Plants evolved at atmospheric CO2 concentrations of 2000 ppm and greater, and many grow best at about 1200 ppm CO2 – about 3 times current levels. That is why greenhouse operators maintain 1000-1200 ppm CO2 in their greenhouses. Major food crops (except corn) use the C3 photosynthetic pathway, and die at about 150 ppm from CO2 starvation – that is just 30 ppm below the minimum levels during the last Ice Age, which ended just 10,000 years ago – “the blink of an eye” in geologic time. Earth came that close to a major extinction event. During one of the next Ice Ages, unless there is massive human intervention, atmospheric CO2 will decline to below 150 ppm and that will be the next major extinction event – not just for a few species but for ~all complex terrestrial carbon-based life forms.
