Liberalism as the de jure organising principle of the post-war order seems to finally be on its way out. News about India seeking to change its name , and recent news stories about India seeking to write a new constitution are just the latest in a long line of recent developments. Turkey is set to write a new "socially conservative" and openly religious constitution to replace its current liberal one. The coups in Africa have all been against neoliberal backed governments. States like Uganda and Nigeria are using the force of the state in order to crush pro-homosexual 'movements'. I suspect that as the hegemony of the post-war "Western" order fades ever more rapidly that the nations and states of the world will ever more rapidly abandon these pretenses toward liberalism and liberal-democracy. Religious, racial and ethnicity based conceptions of the nation-state will resurface as countries begin to assert their uniqueness at an institutional level.
