  1. Within the last 5000 years, there have been three warming periods (referred to as optimums, not crises), Minoan, Roman and Medieval. The Minoan was the warmest, followed by the Roman and then Medieval. All three were warmer than today, looking at the overall trend appears to indicate a cooling. When the IPCC produced its first Assessment Report, they used the chart showing those warm periods. They quickly realised that it didn't support their global warming narrative, so switched to using the crooked hockey stick from Michael Mann.
