It's clear to me now that the campaign to destroy Weinstein's reputation is simply the result of Harvey going against the Matrix, as the first film producer that stood up to the movie moguls and refused to treat his audience like fools.
During the 90s, Miramax produced the most intelligent and groundbreaking films of the decade, from action to drama, to horror to comedy. Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, Clerks, Trainspotting, Scream and Shakespeare In Love completely broke the mould in terms of audience expectation, proving that deep story telling can hit it big at the box office. Weinstein took chances on some of the best-loved writers, directors, and actors that otherwise never would have graced the silver screen were it not for his creative vision.
And that's why the matrix had to take him down.
