  6. @ It seems people just don't like to maintain things anymore. Neighbor has a 21 Corolla with 70k on the clock from new, he's only changed the oil 4 times. It'll be interesting to see how much life he gets out of that car. I didn't even tell him to change oil more frequently because he wouldn't listen anyway.

  11. Without knowing if it's been changed before he would probably say no. He changed my RX fluid at 70k and told me he would not have touched it after that. Check out his transmission videos on this channel, it's very informative about this subject.

  14. At least her sister listened to you, everyone I tell who don't know cars about owning $$ pits never listen. My sister's husband just grenaded his 2nd Equinox this week and can you believe they're buying another one!? Car guy all my life and I never give car advice to anyone because you tell them what they don't want to hear. I'll keep driving my RX and GS.

  23. I changed a lot of Chebby small blocks back in the day. Had a 91 Caddy that had the 305 and replaced it with a new 350 crate motor. had it out in the morning and new one running that evening. Had my heyday wrenching in the 80's and not working the new ones today. At 60 there's no way I'm doing heavy stuff today, it's a young mans game today to wrench.

  26. I'd much rather have that than the new RX any day. It'll be interesting what the verdict will be in about 10 years on the turbo 4's. Love my 14 RX, it's been rather boring since new in a good way.

  31. Friends bought a 14 Impala at the same time we bought our 14 RX both new. They've fixed it often while we've never fixed our RX once.

  35. We love ya Amd but, now you've triggered my anxiety since I own 2 of these models of engine. Just pulling your chain! 😆 Overall, it appears that your engine is sealed better after you seal it than some cases after it being factory sealed. Remember folks, it could be worse, you could own a model from the big 3 or newer Mecedes, BMW, Audi's... It's just part of owning highly complex motor vehicles this day and age. I still love my 2 Lexus's and hope to own them for many years.

  38. 85k mile RX that seeps oil but it's not worth addressing yet till it gets worse then I'll take it to his shop. No car is perfect.

  41. And what brand is better? Toyota has always been conservative and always last on the greatest tech. My 14 RX is very boring and has no cool tech but it has not once ever been back to the dealer in its 85k miles. 45 years of driving and I've never had a car as good as this one.

  45. I wouldn't get that excited. There are much worse brands out there IMO. 2 Lexus owner and owned cars for 45 years and I've never owned anything as good as what I have now. Like he said, no such thing as a perfect car. Do you really want to own something from the big 3 or other brands!?
