It is equivalent to driving an old V12 jag compared to living to a new small electric vehicle, the up front impact is greater but the long term impact is greatly reduced. Additionally on this case the ARE making very flat connections they are just making MASSIVE tunnels true roads overrated of small tunnels for trains!

  20.  @EnjoyFirefighting  with a train you choose a mean gradient and stick to that, the extra difficulty will be repaid by having a massively SMALLER tunnel and a finished product that is far more efficient without as many gradients.
