We pay a lot of taxes to make it work. It's not perfect, but it's good.

@Alckee I'm finnish.. we also get paid fairly.. and on top of it we have healthcare and all sorts of nice things, like 2 years of maternity leave, child care, free education...

@asamisaito What is a long wait for you? You have a toothache, you call the dentist, when do you get to the dentist? I get in the same day or the next, if I call a private sector dentist, it might actually take longer..

@bc4458 Maybe, but we use a lot of tax money outside too and becoming a NATO country, the cost of military expenses will go up permanently.. maybe it's bc there's very little corruption and no people stuffing their own pockets on every possible step..

@marshayemanuel1991 If we don't pay good enough wages for teachers and healthcare workers with our taxes, then they will go work somewhere else, like private sector.. then we get the same kind of horrible chaos that the UK has at the moment.. if we don't pay taxes, then where is our country supposed to get money for our "free" education etc?

@asamisaito Democratic socialism.. that's how everyone can have nice things, not just the 1%.. like the homeless can have an apartment and help they need to get their lives together again and become a "taxpayer" again.. it's not rocket science.. it works on big scale too, but corruption is the thing that spoils everything.. less corruption, more happy/satisfied people= less crime. Simple. Honesty is the key, literally.
