@duncansmith7562 Yeah right, all those other countries banging at our door to do trade deals - no, I can't see them either.

My Mum is 82, voted not to join in 1975, but voted to remain in 2016.

@lostonearth7856 Except the fishing industry is now complaining that they can't export to the EU because of all the red tape, so their catch doesn't arrive fresh! Some people should have been more careful what they wished and voted for.

Would there be anything to put in it?

The longest suicide attempt in history. Absolute idiocy. Time to rejoin. 🇬🇧🇪🇺🇬🇧🇪🇺🇬🇧🇪🇺🇬🇧🇪🇺🇬🇧🇪🇺

@Mark-Haddow Great Britain is a country: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It was formed in 1707, I would have thought that would be a date etched on your memory. 🙂🙂🙂

Why do you care whether they are EU or non-EU?

I think cutting yourself adrift from your biggest market isn't exactly doing yourself a lot of favours. As for blowing North Sea Oil, Thatcher did that by creating mass unemployment.

@nigeljohnson9820 Never say never, give it 20 years and we'll be back. 🇬🇧🇪🇺

I'll give it 20 - five years to decide we need to realign our trading relationship, another five to realise we need the Customs Union, five more for free movement another five to recognise we might as well have a seat at the table.

Please demonstrate how it has "worked." Evidence is needed.

Jon, can you see any pink elephants or flying pigs???

'Getting control of our borders'!!!! 🤣x504,000

Except that the Bank of England, IIRC, has calculated the specific hit to UK GDP from Brexit has been 4%. So the pandemic and Ukraine have been excluded from the calculations.

More like ignorance and hatred.

No, we should just brick him in to some dark corner of the Tower and leave him to scream and shout, never to be heard from by anyone again.

@Mark-Haddow You are very historically confused. The concept of 'asking the Scots' would have been just an anathema to the political class of Scotland as 'asking the English' would have been to their counterparts south of the border in the C18. Secondly, all countries are political constructs. Or are you going to tell me that Germany or Spain don't exist? Or maybe you'd prefer the political arrangements prior to the later middle ages. We could give the Shetlands, Orkneys and Hebrides back to Norway. Or maybe give Lothian back Northumberland, or we could recreate Reghed by uniting Dumfrieshire and Cumbria. Or perhaps you'd like the return of 'Fotrun/Pictland' and Strathclotta? They are all political constructions just like any other country. Scotland is no different in that regard to England, France, China, Australia or, indeed, Great Britain.

@wobblybobengland Which I'm pretty sure is what I said. Though perhaps I wasn't as clear as I thought I was.
1
@ogaram I totally agree. I have long been a supporter of Irish unity.

@chubbymoth5810 Is that a specific Brexit figure though?? The 4% was the effect of Brexit.
1
@grassytramtracks You are quite right, I was thinking of the Customs Union, but meant EFTA.
1
@beardedbaldie2698 There were about 166,000 Americans living in the UK in 2021, up from 133,000 in 2008.
1
@igor derrico Why?
1
@jonburton9411 So you admit you're delusional, fine. Just confirms my view of Brexiteers.
1
Except that the Bank of England, IIRC, has calculated that the specific economic effect of Brexit has been a 4% hit to UK GDP.
