  2. Speaking of deaths, interestingly, SIDS deaths are way down. Even more interesting, vaccination rates also have dropped a good 40%. The figures line up exactly with the doctor's offices and clinic closures. This is per stats provided by the CDC in the US.

  6.  @irishcanuck9489  Of course other countries did better than us. They immediately shut borders and were required to use masks. And they kept schools and businesses open too! They were not told it was racist to avoid Chinese businesses (but I didn't return to the hair salon where the owner told me she was going for Chinese New Year on Jan 16, for 5 weeks). They did not allow flights in from China for months and months. And to this day they come still. They were not told wearing a mask is useless... Oh, and the best one? MASKS PROTECT OTHERS FROM YOUR GERMS BUT YOU AREN'T PROTECTED FROM THOSE OF OTHER PEOPLE!! That's so ridiculous I don't know whether to laugh or cry. How is it my germs cannot reach those around me but this same mask allows every other microbe in??? Canada slavishly adhered to every dictate from the WHO even after it became abundantly clear this organization is in the pocket of China and ignores basic science. We're doing ok now except for a few pockets of farms where illegal migrants hide and don't get tested for fear of being sent back. That's another thing the authorities are not being forthcoming about. We have no idea how many "undocumented" are avoiding testing in cities altogether (especially Toronto area) and not self isolating when sick, thinking they'll lose pay or be forced to leave. I'm betting that's why we can't seem to drop down to zero cases. Oh, and how can we forget the instructions not to go for testing, even when you have obvious symptoms, but to self isolate? For months we had no idea where the virus was due to inadequate testing and it took 5 months to fix that. Then there's Dr Tam, who co-authored the Post SARS Report and detailed the vulnerability of Long Term Care homes and the need to make significant changes to these. None of it was adhered to, including the requirement to keep a 16 week supply of PPE at all times. That's our Chief Medical Officer... SHE KNEW, and no doubt advised the PMO of how bad this would get. Still, they didn't act on that information. So many elderly died as a result. The military had to come in to assist. How embarrassing is that? We have no right to be smug.

  7.  @ghiblisesse  Yup, my father quit on his 50th birthday. He survived WWII but he didn't survive cigarettes. He still succumbed to cancer (malignant melanoma and prostate) 5 years after a major stroke in his sixties. Those years were terrible for us all, my mother especially as she was his full-time care giver. And he did not go peacefully, as the obits always claim. It was the worst suffering imaginable.
