I take gel capsules that have some olive oil to increase absorption. Magnesium is essential to convert the D.

My father worked outdoors for years, often without a shirt. He died of malignant melanoma at age 69. Stay sun smart (covered when needed, but not using toxic sunscreen).
3
2,000 a day? That's low unless you're young and live in a southern climate.
2
Good for you and the hard work you've done. There may be groups online you can join?
2
Agreed. May be challenging to access now, depending where one lives.
2
Have you by chance seen videos by Dr Terry Wahls?
2
@amaliagrassi6870 I find that sometimes too, Amalia (such a lovely name)
2
@amaliagrassi6870 Especially if you say anything negative about v a c c i n e s.
2
@amaliagrassi6870 It's simply gorgeous is all I can say 😁
2
And don't forget K2 and magnesium.
2
Probably but it depends your current serum level, age, body fat and your digestive system. I'm 64, average wt, 168 cm and I'm taking 5,000 iu. Testing shows my blood levels are in the optimal range. I know a healthy active retired cardiologist, 95, who takes 10,000/day.
2
I take gel caps containing olive oil and they work very well. You need to take K2 and magnesium also.
2
And magnesium.. that's a must
2
According to everything I've read you can easily go to 4,000. I take 5,000 and I'm 64. I know an active, healthy 95 yr old retired cardiologist who takes 10,000.
2
Your doc is a keeper
2
🤣🤣🤣
2
It's called herd immunity.. shhhhhhh, don't embarrass the vaccine sellers 😉
1
K2 and magnesium are essential
1
At the time he tested, he wasn't taking 10k
1
LMAO.. Flora, if you're taking intravenous D treatment for cancer, 4,000 iu is RIDICULOUS.. let me guess. you're employed by Pharma?
1
My vitamin D3 gel caps contain olive oil
1
How to get proper amount of D with food?
1
😉💉💉💰💰💰💰💰
1
Don't forget magnesium too
1
I get mine lab tested yearly in Ontario. I ask my doctor to include it on my bloodwork requisition and I pay at the lab. It's well worth it. I take 5,000 iu daily and my serum D levels are in the optimal range.
1
Sure it is. If you live in a southern climate and go outside daily, year round.
1
Then take chanka piedra.. breaks them up for easy expulsion
1
@pricillaprice7602 It's a supplement, from a plant from the Amazon. Everyone I know who's tried it is amazed.Ask at your local health store.
1
Of course not, he monitors his serum D levels. The older you are the more difficult to sero convert, he knows that. I know that and I'm not in health care. It takes 5,000 for me in winter and 4,000 in summer to stay in the optimal range and I'm 64.
1
You cannot get sufficient vitamin D from food unless you're Inuit.
1
@fiora6171 What are your mercury levels like?
1
LOL!!! My grandson's paediatrician has him on 800 iu.. he's 2 years old, 27 lbs.😁
1
I'm Canadian and for a good 7 months of the year you couldn't get enough sunlight standing naked at noon for 2 hours 😉
1
Yes, 2020 has given us vitamin D knowledge.. and cleaned out closets 😉
1
This is why testing is so important as we're all different. I'm thinking he had much lower levels to start and the quality of different brands of D varies. The gel caps that contain oil have higher absorption rates.
1
I'm not, he was taking too low amounts and the tablets rather than gel caps of D3.
1
Depends your size, age and sun exposure. I take 5,000 iu and my levels are in the optimal range.
1
You'd have to take very high amounts for a long time. Fauci takes 6,000 and a healthy, active 95 yr old retired cardiologist I know takes 10,000.
1
I go with trusted brands that have an excellent track record
1
According to Dr Zoltan Rona (who wrote a book on vitamin D) you can and should go outdoors mid day to get the best sun exposure but not more than 10 minutes per side (if you're sunning on a lounger). Do not let your skin get more than a little pink (and not sore). Do not use commercial sun screens, they're toxic!
1
Excellent. It's too bad most doctors don't know this.
1
That's a really low amount unless you're young and enjoy sun every day in summer
1
@andrewjackson246 Well Andrew, I'm speaking from experience and assuming you're in the UK and over 40. I personally get my levels checked yearly and pay out of pocket for that here in Canada, so I know that for myself, I need 5,000 iu in winter and 4,000 in summer to stay in the optimal range. When this pandemic started I knew exactly what supplements to add to my regimen and how much. I've been researching Natural health and vaccines for well over a decade now and have attended lectures on vitamin D and it's therapeutic use and read Dr Zoltan Rona's book on the subject. That's why I say 2,000 is low. My 2 year old grandson, 27 lbs, gets 800 iu on the advice of his paediatrician.
1
Don't forget magnesium
1
I'm surprised John hasn't been monitoring his serum D levels!! I'm not in health care yet I've been doing so for over 15 years. It's equally surprising he thought that at his age and size that 3,000 iu in winter would be sufficient.
1
Magnesium is essential for absorption
1
Correct sir
1
I'd say you never know what's in the fish. And unless you're a seal, it's near impossible to get enough D from food.
1
@Rsymond Coeur Excellent information. Also K2 and magnesium should be taken with D3.
1
Are you sure that was the cause? How much was he taking?
1
Depends your starting level, age and body fat too, but that's a good reference
1
I'm taking 5,000 iu daily. I know an active retired cardiologist, 95, who takes 10,000.
1
Magnesium is essential too
1
Why do you think that? He's not promoting specific brands of supplements, but providing a very useful demo of the vitamin D test kits and informing people how much more they may need than they realize.
1
Wow, how are you feeling today?
1
That's way too low for that age. The elderly need more as they don't sero convert easily.
1
My guess is that polititians are pharma invested.. I know for a fact American polititians obtain a lot of campaign donations from Pharma. They prefer to sell their vaccines.
1
Yes, especially if it contains a bit of oil
1
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
1
When did lighter skin develop (I'm curious)
1
Just ask at your next doctor's appointment for the blood test requisition, it's about $40 in Ontario.
1
For vitamin D?
1
@sharonhainesNumber1Red There's no way to get adequate D from food Sharon. I'm taking food source supplements and eat very healthy. The older one is the more challenging to absorb needed nutrients. Juicing is very expensive. It's not even possible to get 3,000 mgs of vitamin C from food daily. Or 40 mgs zinc.
1
No, we are in the wrong position, we should be in the south like the snowbirds 😁
