  5.  @Lawliet734  The money laundering that's been going on for decades and allowed to go on for decades in Vancouver and Toronto are a huge part of the problem. Lack of regulating airbnb hasn't helped either. Smart ppl began to put their money into investment properties and flip them under various family members' names. Rental housing isn't being constructed. This is what's led to the current housing crisis. People's wages haven't kept up at all to the cost of living for a good 25 years now. Even the large unions have been having that difficulty. Governments only look after those who paid for them to gain their position. The rest of us are screwed.

  10.  @dopeytripod  Look at how many rich ppl stumble and then rebuild. Most of them. Mental health is a lot more complicated than having or not having money. My family on both sides came from little; war is a great equalizer. My parents and husband's families worked very hard and sacrificed a lot to provide my generation with education opportunities. And we've done the same for our now adult children. Fortunately none of us have mental health issues, but that's not the point.

  11. Hard to feel a sense of community if you can't afford even a one bedroom apt. Our son told us yesterday of the concept of "vanning".. know what that is? Young people are resorting to living in vans.

  13. A person with schizophrenia has a brain disorder. Politics has nothing to do with it, but understanding of it requires some intellectual ability.
