  6. Animals are not carrying this virus, they aren't infected. If they did, China wouldn't be seeing a rapid downturn in cases given the control measures they've put in place.

  7. They saw this runaway train coming for 3 months now. We have tons of experience from SARS, I was working in the epicenter of that crisis and many of the experts who delt with it are still around. I hate to burst your bubble Bee, but the Canadian government has screwed this up quite badly because once more they're being reactive rather than proactive.

  9.  @mt1eh  Produce doesn't carry covid, commerce can take place, stop the rest. All our cases (costing our system a lot already) came from travellers.

  12.  @singtweetypie  True. But that doesn't absolve our government for not being prepared given our experience with SARS. And we saw this unfolding since January. Had flights been stopped from the beginning, we wouldn't be in this position. That illustrates lack of preparedness.
