  1. That is excellent insight! And don't forget the shock. People are in shock when it happens and the rapist usually expects that as he's done it before and knows what to do. Then victims feel shame afterwards and that's HUGE! Women feel responsible, they feel they deserved it (same for male victims).

  3.  tintinesk5  You need to speak with a psychologist who treats rape victims and they will explain all of what you don't understand. You just don't get it. Your thinking IS THE REASON the courts don't award tougher sentences for this crime bc many blame the victim.

  10.  Shadesmar99  There isn't any Justice. Victims do not get Justice. The legal system provides a source of income for many employed within it and that's about it.

  11.  @sathalheimer67  One small correction re the Cosby case. The only reason he was able to finally be tried was that ONE victim, Andrea Constand who was raped by him, managed to finally have charges laid against him TWO WEEKS before the statue of limitations would've ran out. And even though he admitted in a legal statement that he "had sex with her" and had given her Quaaludes in order to accomplish this, he claimed it was consensual (she's gay). One small side note; here in Canada we have no such statute of limitations.

  12.  Shadesmar99  Being raped is a life sentence. Justice would be a life sentence for the rapist. No more people get harmed. Plus psychiatric counselling for the victim. Justice will never occur though as it's too expensive and there are many idiots that harbour delusions of potential rehabilitation. We have a legal system and that's it.
