  2. Mine grew up respectful and successful too and I never resorted to physical force because I never lost control. I used gentle but firm child psychology. My father used a belt and I never forgave him, even when he was dying of cancer.

  3. If you use physical force you've lost control and you've humiliated them. It's illegal to strike an adult but it's ok to use force against children? SHAME ON YOU

  4. Anyone who uses force will at one point or another go too far. It's inevitable. We didn't learn our youngest has ADHD until she was diagnosed at 32. I'm so thankful we used caring and firm discipline with her rather than violence. It would've broken her. Today she is a successful professional with 3 degrees, and published.
