I keep seeing a pattern of depicting the original Romans as blond and blue eyed. They were not. They described the Celts and Germanics as looking very different for their height (taller) and colours (lighter). AVGVSTVS is said to have been blond, but that's a mistranslation taking out of context since first his OLD AGE is mentioned, which explains the lighter hair colour. If the majority of Romans were light-haired, they never would have found it remarkable to write about. Do the Chinese say "And our emperor had black hair, and the next one and the next"? No. Of course not. Don't be neo-Nazi culture vultures coveting the glory of Rome which does not belong to barbarians.

@seneca983 I'm sure some of the early Romans were tall, but on average not as much as northern races or it would not have been remarked. So-called "reconstructions" of skeletons have a big margin of subjective interpretation which renders them unscientific. There is a meme of a skull in one frame saying "The skull" showing one with sharp canines. The next frame says: "How aliens would reconstruct the skull" depicting a ferocious alien monster like from Alien VS Predator, and then "The animal" showing a housecat. It should also be considered that there are nowhere near enough remains to make a good case for the height average of the ancient Romans. So whoever told you that Romans had a tall height were spreading misinformation, and probably with a neo-Nazi-like agenda (to steal Roman glory for Germanic people). Blacks are known for having very tall people, but you can find the shortest people in Africa so I heard: pygmies. You can find any height and select examples to try to show whatever narrative you want to advance.

@seneca983 I knew he made that video some time ago, but I think I was going to get back to it later and never did. He said an ancient called VEGETIVS said that to be a horseman, "you had to be at least 172" which he put as 5 feet 6 inches. However, that man was born around the year 300 which means his description is not reliable for the original Romans seeing as how by that time they had already been incorporating barbarians into their ranks skewing height averages to be taller than originally.

@seneca983 He's not a neo-Nazi but Nazi-like ideas are dominant in the establishment that calls itself scientific and the one that calls itself historical, which is why the racist myth of macro-evolution is taught as science when it's garbage, and why ancient southern Europeans are nearly always depicted as looking just like Germanics and Celts, which is nonsense. They even used a Scot with blue eyes to represent Leonidas. PFF! Imagine if someone said to depict ancient Picts by using me (black hair and brown eyes). That would be ridiculous.

@seneca983 False equivalency. Here is proof that macro-evolution is impossible: the mind is FREE to think ergo is NOT A SLAVE to physics ergo is not physical ergo genes can never determine intelligence, which that creation myth hinges on to say that mankind got greater intelligence by evolution.

@seneca983 You ask me for support for your side, but that's not my job. Metatron's video failed to justify putting ancient Romans at nearly the same height as northern savages. The ancients themselves say that northern barbarians were MUCH taller, and also had light features not native to southern Europeans. So anyone depicting the original southern Europeans be they Iberians, my race, or Italians or Greeks, as looking like Celts or Germanics, is lying about history. In Metatron's case, he wants to make Italians look good, and so he pretends they were not much shorter on average, using modern Italians to support his case even though that's turning a blind eye to the fact that Lombards, Goths and Normans changed the demographics thereby boosting the average height.

@seneca983 You did ask me to support your side since you asked me for a source earlier than the one Metatron gave which was not good enough. That's not my job. As for a source for barbarians being taller, here is an example: "VNDA HABITVS QVOQVE CORPORVM, TAMQVAM IN TANTO HOMINVM NVMERO IDEM OMNIBVS TRVCES ET CÆRVLEI OCVLI RVTILÆ COMÆ MAGNA CORPORA ET TANTVM AD IMPETVM VALIDA." -TACITVS on Germans saying they had big bodies among their features.
