In Cambodia the other day, I was walking on the median (which some locals also do), to cross the street, when I saw a man yelling at me for no good reason, with an angry look onn his face. He was a drunk idiot. He was sober enough to look both ways before crossing the street though. I was thinking he would try to hurt me, so I almost got run over trying to get away from him, but when he was close to me, he did not hurt me, but I wasn't even facing him then. I was just trying to get away. Maybe he did try to attack me, but missed. A way off, some other Cambodians were laughing 'cause they're jerks. Yeah, so funny to see one of your countrymen disgrace your nation. I never litter on this country but it is Cambodian culture to do so. These people demand great respect, but give no real respect. Many are racist against the Vietnamese, and pretend that the Khmer didn't also take from others' lands back when they had an "empire" as big as a small Chinese province. One Cambodian said that the Khmer Empire was "bigger than China!" Ignorance is huge here.
