The reason SOME Spaniards, Italians and people in Greece today can be blond is because of historically verified invasions of barbarians from the north. Blonds are not natives to the Mediterranean. Scientifically, there is no reason to lose pigmentation in a warm climate. Blonds are from southern Sweden and around there where lack of a strong sun meant no need for brown eyes. And brown hair is what happens when a blond grows up in a hot place, like a friend I had in Honduras who was born blond but whose hair darkened to brown. I'm an Iberian of hte original stock as I can tell from deduction. Germanic Spaniards like the French-dynasty so-called king of Spain are less Spanish than me. Their ancestors are not natives.

@Thelaretus What are the reasons black Africans were nearly always technologically stagnant? I'm not a racist by the way. They always had wartime competition. Zulus are an example of this. Yet a spear was the best they could do. I love Zulus and plan to learn Zulu, but I hope you can give me some idea I haven't thought of as to why they were so primitive until getting Portuguese firearms and so on.

Anyone who wants war between Italians and the Chinese should consider this... for Age of empires 2 HD. My plan was a war between Aztecs and Incas in the proper context but the pending maps has many uses.

And Huns lost in Gaul, not Germania, I think.

@headhunter1945 Attila is not his real name. It's an altered form, a title or nickname. Goths were one of the groups that fled the Huns. Why would the Huns speak primarily Gothic, the language of one of their victim tribes? Maybe the Huns were not into literacy, so whenever there are records of them, it is by neighbours like the Goths. If Attila spoke Gothic, that's like finding an Aztec who speaks Mayan. Mayans had a great influence on Aztecs, and the same seems to be the case in the Goth-Hun relationship.

Alexander's blond hairs were because his dad's mom was a barbarian from Illyria. The black hairs were due to his pure Greek side showing. But I must say maybe that was painted over long afterwards. @josephkempinger A false statement is a lie regardless of intention, but there are different definitions. And a true statement can't be a lie. You can lie by omission though, like saying "Protestors are violent" implying they are aggressors and not the police. One time I got fired because I yelled at a bully in my job, and I was accused of "violence" which gave the false impression that I hit someone (which he would have deserved anyway).

@commenter4190 I don't know Latin yet but Spanish is a modern form of Latin, so when I saw the word CALVITII I already knew what it probably meant since "calvo" means "bald." :-) Regardless, anyone can google the meaning of words to verify translations, using different sources to get a clearer picture. LVNA and FORTVNA are pronounced in Spanish probably just as they were in Latin at last in HISPANIA. An English reading would be atrocious. So glad Latin is my first language albeit through an Arabic filter and weakened to the point of being one of the most romantic languages.

You don't understand that a word having a connotation doesn't rule out uses of it without that connotation. "Lying" has the connotation of "intent to mislead," but since "lying" means "telling a lie," and "lie" means "falsehood," your adamantly-held preferences notwithstanding, then that means that any act of telling something that is not true... can be called lying, and there is no need for you to intend to deceive in order to blurt out something that isn't factual.
