  1. It' won't make much of a difference at this point, 25 years, that the time it takes for greenhouse gases to reach the troposphere, neither party is doing anything to negate the use of fossils. The Republicans are in denial and the Democrats are lying about their intentions.

  3. Mike C. The immediate construction of enough fission nuclear power plant plants to produce twice the amount of electricity needed in the US and a Apollo program to achieve functional nuclear fusion plants would be a good start.

What frustrates me about solar power advocates is that all the raw materials are extracted using fossil fuels, every machine involved in the extraction is also made from materials extracted using fossil fuels, the machines used in the extraction and the solar panels themselves are then made from processed materials which have been refined using fossil fuels. This is a cascade effect, this is something not taken in to account when somebody claims that after a certain period the solar panel becomes carbon neutral and furthermore anything produced using fossil fuels cannot be carbon neutral, there is allways a deficit, red does not become black in the ledger when carbon has been expended, it remains red because no carbon has been removed from the equation. The same is true for nuclear fission reactors, but the deficit is far lower by a factor of a 100. France is an example to the rest of us in this regard, unlike everywhere else they have continued to invest in fission and they have the premier nation in developing fusion reactors.
