Chris Hakala That depends, how patient are you, let's say the people of Oregon decided to vote third party for local elections, local elections have a low turnout so it should be easier than presidential elections, so first you take a city, later a couple of counties and finally the statehouse, let's imagine that pattern repeating in more than one state, now you have displaced the ruling party locally, now you have funds and a platform. It's the apathy of the citizenry that makes it impossible, not the system.
