kellibomb. Windmill and solar plants are made from steel, aluminium, copper, plastic, glass and other materials, Steel requires coal to manufacture, so does aluminium and glass, copper needs coal to remove impurities(smelters), a coal free world isn't going to happen any time soon, it's true that we no longer require coal to power our homes, but to produce a whole range of products we still need coal.

Lizzie Beth. Yeah, you really gotta wonder why a million sociologists haven't done what is simple math, why don't you do it, take the total number of poor by race in percentages and then match that with prison population in percentages by race, why haven't a single politician from either party done was is incredibly simple maths. I did this with five states, Maryland, Maine, Iowa, Alabama, Alaska, in every instance the same was true, a exact match.

Nigel Deans. Natural gas can be used, how is natural gas transported, pipelines or tankers, do they pollute, how is it extracted, is it possible to extract the needed natural gas without using fracking, so if fracking isn't to be used it has to be purchased from abroad and from whom, is it wise to depend on Saudi Arabia or Qatar for natural gas, how much fuel is expended transporting it, natural gas blast furnaces are used to smelt recycled material, they are not efficient enough to be used in primary manufacturing.

Anna Draper. And why was that possible for Trump, think about it, who has run the department of education for a solid fifty years, I read a mail written by a political strategist that explains why it has come to this quite well.
"Dear John: Well, we all thought the big problem for our US democracy was Citizens United/Koch Brothers big money in politics. Silly us; turns out that money isn't all that important if you can conflate entertainment with the electoral process. Trump masters TV, TV so-called news picks up and repeats and repeats to death this opinionated blowhard and his hairbrained ideas, free-floating discontent attaches to a seeming strongman and we're off and running. JFK, Jr would be delighted by all this as his "George" magazine saw celebrity politics coming. The magazine struggled as it was ahead of its time but now looks prescient. George, of course, played the development pretty lightly, basically for charm and gossip, like People, but what we are dealing with now is dead serious. How does this get handled in the general? Secretary Clinton is not an entertainer, and not a celebrity in the Trump, Kardashian mold; what can she do to offset this? I'm certain the poll-directed insiders are sure things will default to policy as soon as the conventions are over, but I think not. And as I've mentioned, we've all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry. The unawareness remains strong but compliance is obviously fading rapidly. This problem demands some serious, serious thinking - and not just poll driven, demographically-inspired messaging. Rubio's press conference yesterday AM was good and should be repeated in its entirety, not just in nibbles. I will attend the Clinton fundraiser here next week but as I can only afford the low level of participation may just get to wave without a "hello." I fear we are all now trying to navigate a set of forces that cannot be simply explained or fully understood, so it is and will reamin interesting! Sent with a handshake, Bill"

Chet Simmons. That's true about the republicans, the dems however supported importing labor from abroad which made unions unfeasible, they also supported tax breaks for corporations, especially big pharma, big media and big tech, which is why the favorite tax haven for such corpoartions is Delaware.
The Dems never supported healthcare for all, the affordable care act isn't healthcare for all, it's healthcare for the upper middle class, the poor can't afford it.
The dems are also supporting discrimination, the bill that is causing all of the things you mention was passed in 1996, it was a part of the crime bill. That was back when someone dubbed black kids superpredators.

Chet Simmons. That is simply untrue, you've been lied to, the 110th and 111th congress had a dem majority, they could have passed any bill they wanted to pass, it's incredible they were able to sell that fiction to people, then again big tech, big media and big pharma owns them and big media gave them cover to get away with it.
They had the legislature and the executive, they could have passed medicare for all, instead they blamed the opposition who couldn't have blocked universal healthcare, had their allies in the media deceive the public and had big pharma write the affordable care act.
"like taking away regulations of wall street which led to the big crash" The Glass–Steagall which regulated Wall Street was revoked under Clinton with bipartisan support.
Both parties have their wealthy backers, the republicans are dependent on old fashioned industry support, miming, oil, manufacturing. Both parties are supported by the financial sector.
