Furthermore I actually remember the end of the Cold War and there was an accord reached in Paris in which the Russians were promised that the West would not meddle in the former Soviet Republics, only the Baltic states were exempt. The US no longer imports the same amount of highly qualified labor it did in the past, the brain drain as it was known no longer applies to the same degree, purchasing power on US salaries is at this point time quite low and the only industry that still imports highly skilled labor is Silicon Valley, it is no longer attractive for skilled labor to move to the US, wages are low, societal security is abysmal, living expenses are through the roof for those who desire to start a family. The rest of the World is no longer the World in which the US dominates economically by virtue of not being a bombed out ruin, therefore in the main the US now only attracts people who can perform menial low skilled jobs. With increased automation these people will become an economic liability in the next 15 years, in the last 20 years the US imported in total 30 million, most of which weren't skilled labor. All empires rise and fall, it is time to realize that the US has a bloated military for what is in economic terms a regional power in the Western hemisphere.
