Switzerland is involved in global finance, but they are not going for mass immigration, it would destabilise the canton system. Portugal much like Britain and soon France is about to abandon that position entirely. It's over.

  15. Travis Himebaugh Yes they are a city state and therefore can maintain cohesion quite easily, that's why they can do so. The rest of the world is not in the main comprised of city states. Multiculturalism and the neoliberalism just died, now move on and accept the new paradigm.

  16. Travis Himebaugh The people of Singapore have the identity of being Chinese, Malay or Indian and of being Singaporean residents. They only consider Singapore to be a place in which they reside. The people of the US however are as an example American of Irish descent. They are not Irish living in the US. Being an American is an Idea, for multiculturalism to work you would have to destroy that idea.

Travis Himebaugh The majority of the people of those places are bound together by the fact that they feel Chinese, Indian and Malay, in the case of Malaysia there are minorities(non Malay) who do not and are suppressed, Malay identity is relatively unknown to me otherwise so I will not expand on it further, the case in China. China is bound by the concept of unity provides security to the Chinese people(one kingdom under heaven rebranded), non Chinese are systemically ostracised unless they embrace the idea of being Chinese with all that entails. Indian identity for a a large part is bound to religious sentiment, that of Hinduism being the source of a uniquely Indian identity. So again in order for multiculturalism to work you would have to destroy those ideas.

Then you stuck with but but but Singapore works, then I asserted that Singaporean residents consider their ethnos more important than their place of residence and why this can only be a successful model in a city state. Furthermore I gave the base of the ehnos that bind India and China together to provide context. That answers the question that you refuse to answer, hence the obtuse part, in order for multiculturalism to work you have to destroy the idea of being American, Indian, Chinese, Malay and so on.

How many have vanished in the 20th century and why did they vanish?, they vanished because they had no state of their own. In order to accomplish you have to do what. Let's imagine this World of city states come into being, each city state will soon become an identity of their own. New Yorker's will become an ethnos, you will have a million city states with each their own separate identity, all you will accomplish is that you will do away with the identity of Americans and replace it Dallasian's, Austinite's, Angelite's and so on. That is what will happen, other ethnic groups and nations will emerge to replace the one that was done away with. And there will be chaos for a while. That's circular and pointless.

Travis Himebaugh If you do away with the nation state there will be chaos, you know this, globalisation is the replacement of the nation state with what Bobbitt call the market state, this will not be a peaceful transition that many proponents of globalism imagines. And all that will happen is the rise of another type of state bound together by a new idea tied to a new kind of ethnos. It is naive to think otherwise.
