Taxes are the stick and carrot of the state, that's his point, you are taking far too simple a tack on this. He never mentioned cheating and when he brings up less taxes it is personal income taxes, corporations will still be taxed. Reforming how taxes are generated is not a bad idea, obviously trust funds should be taxed more efficiently, so should religious institutions who act as corporations.

Jay Millz. Property taxes for instance is a tax in return for a service, you need the infrastructure that the state provides to add value to your property, water, roads and such are not free. As for churches they should pay property taxes, the believers enjoy the use of roads get to the place of worship and the religious institutions are dependent on the donations of the believers to function, I doubt the believers would tithe a part of their income to a institution if there is no access to the house of worship except by foot.

Phanindra Pisupati. The majority of US taxes goes to the military industrial complex in all its glory, I don't think either party wants that to become public knowledge.

TheOldngrumpy1. It is as you state a tool, therefore there is little need to tax personal income. Carrots and sticks.
2
Income, as in personal income. that's what he's talking about.

Jeff Mullen. Yup taxes are the carrot and stick approach, a punishment and a reward.

TheOldngrumpy1, Yeah, when you try to tell people that money in fact is akin to a belief system their mind go all gooey, sometimes they bring up gold, sometimes it is oil, neither has any intrinsic value apart from some arbitrary idea of value. Supply and demand, that's all money is, less in circulation means less inflation, more in circulation means more inflation, everything else is dross.
1
TheOldngrumpy1. Whoa, now you're moving into the creation of artificial demand sphere, that's the racketeering side of the equation.
1
TheOldngrumpy1. There will allways be some inflation, unless there is only one currency, in which case all hell is going to be unleashed. I'm an atheist, so it's just a figure of speech.
1
TheOldngrumpy1. Yeah, that's the racketeering, I know what you mean, that's another bone I have with let's just switch to green energy at once crowd, then you bring up the correlation between currency and oil and the need to control sources of it to maintain the system... Can't switch from oil until there is a resource to replace it, I can't see what can replace it without American hegemony going the way of the dodo.
