No use going to Mars in next 6 years. It's not habitable, nor is the space between here and there survivable in a stainless steel ship. Maybe the Alien Space Federation gave them technology to create magnetic fields strong enough to protect the vehicle and planetary colonies from solar radiation, plasma, galactic rays, and whatever else is floating around out there.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but humans going to Mars is out of touch until a realistic approach is made at mitigating the loss of protection offered by the Earth's magnetosphere. You may be just now learning this FACT. No human has yet left the Earth's Atmosphere, not even if they really landed the moon. The alien bit, comes from an former Israeli intelligence officer. Get off Elon Musks nutz and research some realistic environmental factors and radiation levels a craft would be traveling thru on its way to Mars.

@mcgee227 I am not sure who is more full of poop, you or Elon Musk. In those 5k or so books you should have studied about the effects of radiation on humans, the more recently released science reports of damage to astronauts mRNA and dna while in the space station. Dreamers often lie, and sir a trip to Mars is just a dream.

The one that said the only way Elon musk is going to go to Mars is if the reported by former Israeli intelligence officer claim that an alien federation exists and Donald Trump knows about it, aliens gave SpaceX technology? Whether the Federation is real or not? Whether humans could actually survive traveling? I don't know your dispute. Be more definite with your response. @slowmomma7222 yeah they want proof. All the science available is their proof. With being so well read they should already possess the same information. The onus is on those that believe the trip is survivable to provide evidence technology now enables a protected craft and crew to travel to Mars. Yes, I included some comments from an Israeli intelligence officer about the existence of an Alien Federation. Bogus story or not, the only way SpaceX at this time in history possesses technology to safely travel to Mars is if advanced civilizations shared such technology. Will one day science make travel to Mars realistic? Probably, since it is already understood on a microscale to an extent. Particle deflection, reflection, and absorption will be a triad philosophy that proves valuable in mitigating dangerous radiation levels, solar plasma and dust, and even for the powering of the vessel. We are in a very early era of space flight. They are acting like every other industry did in their early development. They have a one sight vision for collecting the 'gold.' All of the companion elements already exist and are left in tailings with the fine gold. For this industry to continue to exist they will need to refine the process and begin to also gather the other minerals including the finer gold. SpaceX is a start, and I guess Elon gotta sound so sure just to keep the funding rolling in. One last thing, it would probably be a better idea to wait for a solar minimum before taking such a trip. I love making comments like this. (Just because it requires thought, and exposes those that have looked at 5k books but never read and comprehend what knowledge was contained within).

@slopedarmor good thing I only used it as an example of the ridiculousness of manned space flight to Mars. No alien federation means SpaceX does not have the technology to safely and realistically send humans to Mars and survive.
