I'm 74 and I think that I'll manage to go through it but what will become with my-our followers? No future for them. I hope that the leaders of the world will get some sense and see toward what future they are leading mankind. I wouldn't put my money on it. @MZ-wt9oq The Bar Lev line was a Joke. Very few outposts were manned and the others were deserted because of the heavy costs. There were only seven Tanks along the Suez Canal. If you call victory by taking them over by surprise, then yes, this is a victory. How will you call the situation at the end of the war when Israel was on its way to Cairo?

@willfriar8054 Your knowledge is very poor. 1. Who were the other two countries which attacked Israel in 1973? Nobody except you know it. 2. The Sinai Peninsula was held by Israel as a bargain card for the days Egypt will sign a peace treatment with Israel exactly as it had happen. Egypt got back its dignity and Israel won peace with the main Arab country which lead to another peace treaty with Jordan. 3. The Suez canal was not run by Israel after 1973. The Egyptians blocked it for years. And for your first words. What victory was it when at the end of the war Israel stood on the other side of the Suez canal and were stopped by the UN only 65 Miles from the Egyptian Capital Cairo. What about the two big Egyptians Armies, 2nd and 3rd which found itself under Israeli siege starving and with no water till the Americans put pressure on Israel and saved them. If you call it a victory, so how would you call a defeat?

@MZ-wt9oq Israel was stopped advancing toward Cairo by the UN and when the President of Egypt accepted the ceasefire. America didn't support Israel, on the contrary, they were against it. America supported Israel one time at the end of the war when Israel got short of ammunition while Egypt was equipped by the Russians all long the war.

@berrawibarrawi9374 Sorry but you missed all the point. Israel had no intention to keep a desert three times its size. Israel kept Sinai as a bargain card to make peace with Egypt but Abdul Nasser and the rest of the Arab countries had gathered in Hartum in Sudan right after the six days war and decided the famous three no's. Not for negotiating with Israel, not peace with Israel and no recognition in Israel. After the death of Abdul Nasser death Sadat became president. And Here is something you probably do not know. President Sadat offered Israel peace and suggested Israel to split Sinai between them. Prime Minister Golda Meir didn't believe him. The refusal of Golda Meir was a big mistake. President Sadat decided then to go for war against Israel. This was a chapter of the local history and the rest is also history. Sadat got his dignity back and also the all Sinai and Israel got peace as they wanted.

@berrawibarrawi9374 This is the third time and the last one. After 1973 Sinai was under control of Israel till 1982. Sadat didn't get it back till he signed the peace treatment with Israel and it took him nine years to agree to the invitation of Israel to arrive to Jerusalem and talk directly with the Israeli leaders. . From your words it sounds like right after 1973 Sadat got Sinai back, and that's why it's called victory.

@alancient8463 Where did you take this rubbish? They wouldn't do it since the Russians were fighting Israel along the Egyptian Army. Toward the end two Egyptian Armies were on siege by Israel almost starving with no supplies and with no water left.

America asked Israel to take off the siege of the two Egyptian Aramis and letting them have food and water. . 2. I was there. With my brother. He was one of the first to cross the Canal into Egypt with his Tank. I followed few days later. I saw here your another comment about the intelligence that the US provided Israel. It's another rubbish. Israel is the one who is providing good Intelligence to the US till today. The US is happily pay Israel for it also till today.

Yes, at the beginning the Egyptians won the first battle, but they were defeated at the end of it when the Israeli stood on the other side of the Suez canal 101 from Cairo and were stopped after a heavy pressure of America and Russia What you are celebrating as a big victory is only the first part of the war. Israel is celebrating the big victory of the last one and that what's account.

Sinai had been returned back to Egypt after the Egyptian president Sadat arrived in Israel and signed a peace treaty with Israel. It didn't happen right in 1973. The prosses took about six years. Only then Sinai was given back as agreed and now there is peace between them.

After Israel had crossed the Suez canal and the Egyptian has no choice but to sign an agreement with Israel, all Sinai was again under the Israeli rule for about five years When Sadat realized that it's better to sign a peace treatment with Israel, and get it back, only then he was given it back. not one day earlier as you claimed.

I remember an Egyptian Caricature just few days before that war saying: "You thought that our Army is still in Yemen but you are wrong" And about the great win of 1973, well, if stopping the Israeli forces on the other side of the Suez canal is a victory, then what is a defeat? After putting the 2nd and 3rd Egyptian Armies under siege is a victory, then what is a defeat? You make a Museum in Cairo but if not the American and the Russian pressure on Israel they would stop at the Pyramids. Keep dreaming.

Sharon was the one who crossed . . the Suez canal and put siege on the 2nd and 3rd Egyptian Armies The top General of these two Armies fled back to Egypt saying that he wanted to make new plans to improve the bad position of his Armies. @hmazabha A very nice argument but this was not the reality. The war was in 1973 and Sinai was not return to Egypt till 1982. If Egypt would have a such great victory then why wasn't it taken by Egypt on spot? On the other side I'm happy with your saying: Imagine somebody achieved victory and returning the land he occupied.....hahaha Well, this is also my argument. Why should Israel returning back lands after achieving victory over the countries which attacked her? hahahaha.... Did you see it done over the entire history? hahaha...
