  8.  @ChavaIsrael1  I'm a Cohen-Priest. All Cohens belong to the Tribe of Aaron, the first Cohen and the brother of Moshe. They both were born to the tribe of Levi. The Levi'im were not given a piece of land in Eretz Israel since they had to serve in the Temple in Jerusalem. They were given few towns in Judea to live there and to be close to Jerusalem.

  13. NO. You did remember something but not this. When the tribes of Israel settled in Israel there were two and a half tribes which remained on the other side of the Jordan river. Reuven, Gad and a half of the Menashe' tribe. The other half settled in Israel. God didn't say they that Menashe' will not be Jewish.

The new born babies had caused a question whether they are Jews or Christians. The Rabbis decided that they are Jews and since then the mother is the one who determines whether the child is Jewish.
