The EU is a right wing organisation.

@JackCoxMSquirrel Not really, the fact is for several decades the EU has been dominated by the right despite the fact that they receive less votes in European elections. The EU also serves and was founded on the interest of free trade capitalism which is very political. EU policies are also right wing, they impose austerity on member states and bully third world countries. Since its creation, the EU has functioned to protect and expand western European capitalism.

So many Corbyn supporters in these comments fail to realise the EU is a shady right wing organisation. Events in Greece and other member states have proven that they will continue to impose austerity and would never allow socialist reforms to occur.

nicolas grey That's why I don't support brexit and think we should change the EU dramatically in cooperation with the wider European working class. Greece can't leave because they've been trapped. If Corbyn came to power the EU would try and block his policies like they have done across the continent.

nicolas grey But the problem is that the citizens of the UK voted to leave and 5 million of those people are also labour voters. I think the down the middle option labours taken actually represents me quite well however I can see it’s problems. Are you a labour voter? Because Corbyn not doing well could easily open up a window for the Blairites. Results are mostly in now and it looks like labour was third at 10 seats which isn’t great but not as bad as it looked like beforehand. The far right doesn’t want to break Europe apart, it wants to change it into something even worse.

nicolas grey by the fringe do you mean 5 million people? Do you really want labour to lose complete control of the north just so they secure liberal voters. The truth is that brexit is impossible for any government to carry out without losing huge amounts of votes. Corbyn is actually more popular than May and has done so much more with grassroots politics than the blairites did. If he was playing a power game, he’d have gone to either the brexit or remain side, what he’s trying to do is appeal to socialists on both sides. At the next general election we will see a surge in labour support just like at the last one when people realised we have a more important issue than brexit to deal with, capitalism.

@CliveDriver The lib dems have been consistently pro austerity and helped impose it. The EU is also pro austerity and would have sanctioned the UK if the tories hadn't taken austerity measures. The EU would not allow Corbyn to enact socialist reforms and end austerity.

@erikamustermann6783 5 million labour voters support and voted for brexit.
1
@erikamustermann6783 So you hate austerity but support the EU who force austerity onto member states? Weird.
1
Erika Mustermann Just because the tories do it too doesn’t rule out that the EU would have literally sanctioned us after 2008 if we hadn’t gone down that direction but thankfully for them the tories and new labour were in complete agreement. On the Murdoch comment the media is extremely pro EU. Goes to show the Europe’s not this socialist paradise it’s made out to be.

@erikamustermann6783 Please actually do some research. Did you even read what I wrote? Obviously the tories imposed austerity but the EU backed them 100% and would have punished them if they hadn't done so. How the hell is mainstream news not pro EU? The only anti EU mainstream news comes from the daily mail which before you ask I despise. Every other mainstream news outlet doesn't offer a single criticism of the EU because the EU represents their neo liberal ideology perfectly. You seem like someone who is at least getting into leftism so please research how the EU has worked against leftist politics and suppressed the working class.

Erika Mustermann it’s not funny actually, it’s pretty embarrassing for yourself that you don’t seem to know very much about what’s happening over in the organisation you love.
