  2. Funky Sagan Cat Oh right, well there’s 2 main issues. The first is that after the war the US pumped money into the west but to this day the east has received nothing like that so is still much less developed and still seeing a brain drain to the east. The second is that in east Germany you were given a job, house, food and car and were guaranteed a relatively good life free from poverty so many people have not only disliked the lack of these things under capitalism but have been completely unable to cope and have been able to function in capitalist society. There’s also a weird, tiny but vocal group of people that think that the GDR was better because it had very few immigrants.
