Turnips Pickled No we wouldn’t, we would have a second vote. It wasn’t my choice but it was forced upon Corbyn and was much better than the Lib Dem’s crazy plan.

Adam Powell The EU is a neoliberal, hard right trading bloc that is busy drowning kids in the Mediterranean, I don’t think you should be the one question somebody’s socialist principles.
3
Adam Powell Calling 52% of the country evil isn’t going to get your agenda very far.
3
Adam Powell The EU doesn’t allow the nationalisation of major industries, the main goal of the manifesto.
2
Adam Powell When has the EU ever protected me from the tories? Seriously, what the hell have they done? They backed austerity and if the tories hadn’t implemented it they’d have forced it onto us like they did to Greece. Is it humane to drown Syrian children or to support slave markets in Libya?
2
Adam Powell Yeah, France is really doing great right now. I suppose you’re pro macron and against the yellow vests as well. I’m not rich enough to be helped by the EU or visit France and Sweden whenever I want.
2
Adam Powell We have fuck all environmental protection, consumer protection or human rights. You do realise we lived in the EU until January right? Our planet is dying and us workers are getting treated like shit. Saudi Arabia has laws for workers rights and still keep us in the dirt. The EU is no different, just ask the people collapsing in Amazon warehouses from Birmingham to Berlin.
2
Adam Powell Well it isn’t, if Macron privatises something today it can’t be renationalised tomorrow. Obviously the EU doesn’t take away all nationalisation already in place but it definitely ‘encourages’ countries to do so.
2
Turnips Pickled Yeah, we need to show the rest of the working class that socialism isn’t just a thing talked about in oxford debating halls. I think people like Adam are redeemable though, they believe in most of the same things as us but are unfortunately completely brainwashed by liberalism. We’re fighting over the benefits of a neoliberal trading bloc while our country heads towards destruction.
2
Turnips Pickled True, we’re already bailing out the banks and billionaires while many people I know won’t have any money for food. I’m sure Adam would agree on this and it’s something we need to unite on.
2
Turnips Pickled I’m against the EU, but I’d take a Corbyn government over leaving any day of the week. The way in which the government is leaving is terrible and will make every reason for Lexit pointless. We’re going to end up looking like a third world tax haven as crazy and contradictory as that sounds. I’m not trying to lecture you and I agree with your principles but just consider whether or not you’re really glad that we’re getting this kind of brexit.
1
Turnips Pickled But it’s not worth it if we become worse off and if every reason for wanting to leave is nullified. Winning the election would have given Corbyn the power to reign in the blairites and set out his agenda.
1
Turnips Pickled What does a tory brexit actually accomplish though? Will they really implement anything that you wanted from brexit?
1
Turnips Pickled I can imagine a tory-style group writing legislation on our behalf whom we could never vote out, that’s what we’ve got now. I live in Glasgow and all I can see is that I’ve traded one group of foreign bureaucratic elites for another. What’s the point in replacing the elites in Brussels with the elites in Westminster? Im honesty open to being convinced otherwise but why should I want a tory brexit?
1
Adam Powell The so called socialist now reveals that he dislikes Tony Benn.
1
Adam Powell Corbyn was not a remainer, he was a democrat and so campaigned for what the party membership wanted, both in 2016 and 2019.
1
Turnips Pickled The system to elect MEP’s is better than our system to elect MP’s. Yes the council isn’t elected but my country didn’t elect Johnson either and none of us voted for Cummings. At least the EU admits that their government isn’t elected, we just pretend to be democratic.
1
Turnips Pickled Corbyn simply did what the membership asked him to carry out. Although I’m happy that labour now has a mass left wing membership, they are the ones who should be criticised for their decision (among other decisions like backing Starmer).

paul battenbough You do realise the EU has given no help to Italy right? I swear you europhiles just love to make shit up. You’d think we’re living in a utopia with all the times European bureaucrats have supposedly saved the world.
