  2. Sammy O Are you serious? You do realise that Yugoslavia was much more capitalist than the USSR (I don’t consider either socialist by the way but I didn’t want to get into that argument.) I also never said modern Russia was socialist. Yugoslavia operated under market socialism and the USSR under state socialism. Just like in Russia the vast majority of former Yugoslav people (apart from Croatians) wish to return to the days of Yugoslavia. How the hell can you be from former Yugoslavia and not realise how badly capitalism has fucked up Eastern Europe?

  3. Heath Watts Actually the west still attacks Russia because they always need an enemy to pick on. The USSR was a degenerated workers state but it was still 100 times better than what we had before or after or what the west is like. By the way the USSR was completely worker controlled and democratic until Lenin died, clearly you’re still being tricked by American propaganda.

  4. Heath Watts comrade you really need to brush up on your history. The Soviet councils voted for, backed and carried out the October revolution and Lenin abolished the bourgeoisie parliament and transferred total power to the workers councils, something that the SR’s and their capitalist partners had failed miserably to do with the workers having absolutely no control after the February revolution. The councils held complete power until 1921 when Lenin was forced to take some power away from them due to Russia being invaded by a dozen of the worlds great powers. How was Lenin a tyrant and not a socialist? He literally drove himself to death fighting for socialism and never used his position to benefit himself, he also gave countries their independence and respected the outcomes of votes he lost. He even released political prisoners after the revolution however these prisoners then began the counter revolution and white terror. The Red Terror was a necessary response to this that killed 50-100 thousand active counter revolutionaries while on the other hand the white terror killed 500 thousand men, women and children. Russia today is a bourgeoisie democracy just like America and has the same limited freedom that America has, the fact that you say it’s any worse than the west shows how brainwashed you are. For an anarchist, you sure do have a very capitalist view of history. Even American propaganda acknowledges everything that I’ve just told you. Please try to consider my arguments as unlike the authors of American textbooks, I actually have a connection to the history we’re talking about. And before you claim I’m soviet royalty or something (which is somehow a common American argument) know that my family was brutally oppressed under Stalins rule with my 2 great uncles being shot and much of my family being sent to gulags.
