  1. I remember that very well. Driving a '71 VW Squareback with black vinyl seats from Philly to DC on July 4, 1985 on a 95° day without A/C. Cars which had odometers that didn't exceed 100k miles.

  2.  @bogee4u  - Back then, a car rarely made 200,000 miles. My 2nd '69 Vista Cruiser went to the junkyard with 203,000 miles. My daily driver now is a '92 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon, which is about to turn 204,000 miles.
