  4. It's my understanding that Plymouth DID take their 1960 model and rushed it into production for the 1957 model year to get a jump on Ford and Chevy, which were positively stodgy in comparison. In my opinion, the '57 Chevy was the ugliest of the "Tri-Fives." Only Studebaker had a better looking car in 1957. The headlights and parking lights were designed to predict quad headlights, which would become legal nationwide in 1958.
